XPeng, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is actively broadening its global outreach by inviting international journalists and online personalities to experience its groundbreaking autonomous driving technology, VLA 2.0. This initiative aims to establish global confidence in the company's sophisticated software advancements, following a period of strong sales recovery and continuous innovation in the intelligent vehicle sector.

XPeng Extends Invitation for VLA 2.0 Autonomous Driving System Testing

In early April 2026, He Xiaopeng, the Chief Executive Officer of XPeng Inc., enthusiastically announced on social media his eagerness to host global media representatives for the VLA 2.0 Gold Challenge. This challenge allows participants to test XPeng's Vision-Language-Action (VLA) 2.0 system, an innovative AI driving model designed for seamless navigation. The system, which directly translates sensory input into driving commands, boasts enhanced reaction times, reduced reliance on high-definition maps, and superior handling of complex urban environments, including dense traffic and unforeseen obstacles. This follows extensive testing within China, where over 200 domestic media outlets and numerous retail stores have already evaluated the technology. XPeng's internal assessments reveal that VLA 2.0 demands significantly fewer human interventions compared to rival systems, such as Tesla's FSD version 13.2.9, underscoring its advanced capabilities.

Concurrently, XPeng reported a substantial improvement in vehicle deliveries in March, with 27,415 units sold—an 80% increase from the previous month. Although annual deliveries saw a 17% decline, the quarterly figures remained within the company’s projections, with 62,682 vehicles delivered in the first quarter of 2026. Despite these positive operational highlights, XPeng's stock (XPEV) has shown some short-term volatility, trading below its 20-day and 100-day simple moving averages. The stock experienced a 12.87% decrease over the preceding twelve months and is currently positioned closer to its annual lows than highs. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicated a neutral trading sentiment at 53, with Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings suggesting a positive short-term price trend but a less optimistic medium to long-term outlook.

XPeng's strategic move to engage international media is a clear indication of its ambition to cement its position as a global leader in autonomous driving. By opening its advanced technology to global scrutiny, XPeng is not only showcasing its engineering prowess but also actively seeking to build trust and expand its market presence beyond its home country. This transparency and confidence in its VLA 2.0 system could be a pivotal factor in its future success, potentially influencing global perceptions of Chinese automotive innovation and fostering broader adoption of intelligent electric vehicles.
